NSW awards reflect industry's strength

TWENTY of NSW's best businesses and individuals serving the caravan and camping industry have been honoured.

They were recognised at the CCIA & MHIA Annual Awards of Excellence for their outstanding products and industry contribution.

This year’s awards included Best of the Best Park and Best of the Best Trade together with a new award recognising the outstanding contribution by a young achiever.

"The winners of our major awards, Best of The Best Park and Best of the Best Trade, really reflect the excellence in our industry and are businesses which have focussed on the needs of their customers," president Theo Whitmont said.

"The great thing about these awards is that the winners come from far and wide, showing how strong our product is across the state."

Mr Whitmont said the awards also recognised excellence in the growing manufactured housing segment which was offering high quality and affordable housing, particularly for those in early retirement.

Categories stretched across manufacturing, business success, product offering, employee and environmental initiatives and recognised excellence on both an individual and organisational level.

"Sydney RV Group, the winner of this year's Best of The Best Trade, has a long history of providing excellence in service and products to the market," Mr Whitmont said.

"With a staff of 50 based in Penrith, Sydney RV Group has built a business that works actively to give the customer just what they want from their caravan, motorhome or campervan."

For the first time, the industry has recognised up-and-coming talent with the inaugural Outstanding Contribution by a Young Achiever award, which went to Sydney RV Group's Shari Norman.

"Coffs Harbour's Park Beach Holiday Park is this year's Best of The Best Park and it is truly an outstanding holiday property," Mr Whitmont said.

"This business has recognised the needs of families and, along with an amazing setting, provides things like Kids Club and a pool with water slides, fountains and water cannons.

"Congratulations to all this year's winners who represent our strong and vibrant industry."
