Three hundred exhibitors set to showcase products

Melbourne Leisurefest has it all

Have your say

THE final touches are being made to the seventh annual Melbourne Leisurefest which will feature over 300 exhibitors.

Opening on October 2, the four-day show at Sandown Racecourse will showcase the best products in the caravan, camping and 4X4 industries.

Activities for children include face painting, jumping castles, giant parachute games, giveaways and much more.

All kids activities will run from October 3 through to October 5, with Gilbert the Gecko directing parents and children to the Kids' Zone.

"This year's show is jam packed with activities for young and old," CIA Victoria chief executive Rob Lucas said.

"There are also new attractions to the show including the towing track, educational seminars and the Kids Caravanning Explorer’s Club."

Visitors can also enjoy free entertainment.

From Friday through Sunday the Jazz Joker three-piece band will be roving around the show playing smooth jazz tunes for all visitors.

For those who love fishing or would like to learn more, the Yamaha Supertank will be at the show every day.

Shows will run at 45-minute intervals and will educate visitors on the use of fishing lures and how these impact fishing.

"The spectacular 15 metre long and 3 metre high perspex fish tank will allow visitors to see fish in their natural habitat," Mr Lucas said

"Brett Thomson and Michael Cooke will showcase different lures currently available on the market and how fish react to these."

Visitors preferring a more hands-on experience should head for the towing track where AL-KO will be showcasing its Electronic Stability Control system.

This world first in safety technology was recently released to the Australian caravan market.

Murcotts driving school will also be running caravan towing demonstrations on the track, and visitors will be able to ride in the passenger seat to get a feel of how different caravans tow.

Every visitor at the show will also have a chance to enter the passport competition by collecting their passport upon entry, getting it hole punched at the specified exhibitor stands and placing the completed passport in the yellow competition bins at one of the exit gates.
