AUSTRALIAN Tourist Park Management (ATPM) has acquired the lease for Mitchell Gardens Holiday Park in Bairnsdale, Victoria.

The nine-year deal with East Gippsland Shire Council brings the company's property portfolio to 30.

Twelve properties are operated under its own Escape2 Holiday Parks brand, five are NRMA holiday parks and the remainder are managed on behalf of various local and state governments and private owners.

Chief executive Mark Manteit said he was looking forward to working with the council to manage and improve the park facilities, maintenance and the overall guest experience.

"Our first order of business was to change the name of the park to Bairnsdale Riverside Holiday Park to reflect the enviable riverside location," he said.

"The website and park signage will be refreshed in the coming months with the new name and brand."

Mr Manteit said the park appealed to ATPM for its stunning location and excellent facilities.

"We choose parks that combine fantastic outdoor locations with excellent facilities and hospitality," he explained.

"The park sits on the banks of the Mitchell River, near the Bairnsdale shopping district.

"The local area has so much to offer and this park is the perfect base to enjoy a Bairnsdale holiday.

“We want all our guests to have a holiday that creates lifelong memories, both at the park and within the community.

"By providing excellent facilities, accommodation and hospitality, we hope guests will stay longer at the park and enjoy all that Bairnsdale has to offer."

Mr Manteit said his company was looking forward to creating and operating a park that would be an asset to the local community.

Other changes already made at the park include upgrading the wireless internet, which will be offered free to guests, and expanding pet-friendly sites to include all caravan and camping sites at certain times of the year.
