THREE BIG4 resort and caravan parks, including two on Queensland's Gold
Coast, have been voted tops in the latest TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice
Awards.
Leading the field as the most most popular family destination in the
world, South Pacific and Australia was the Coast's 4.5-star NRMA Treasure
Island Resort and Holiday Park.
It was named winner in three categories of the 2012 Awards, which are
based on the highest amount of positive comments and ratings made by past
guests.
Treasure Island manager Brendan Brady said the park was "proud and
thrilled" to be acknowledged as a world leader in the family accommodation
industry.
The Gold Coast's BIG4 Ashmore Palms Holiday Village took put out second
place in both the Australian and South Pacific categories.
Fifth place in the Australian category went to the BIG4 Beachlands Holiday
and Caravan Park at Busselton in Western Australia.
"The TripAdvisor community has again helped pinpoint the most amazing and
beloved travel destinations of the year," TripAdvisor's chief marketing
officer Barbara Messing said.
"For travellers planning their big annual vacation or just a weekend
getaway, these awards highlight awe-inspiring travel locations."
