Show helps adventurous escape the rat-race

Have your say

LIFE is too short to be stuck in the rat-race, according to Victoria's caravan and camping industry.

And one of the first steps in escaping the frantic pace of city life is a visit to next month's Victorian Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow, which kicks off at Caulfield Racecourse on March 6.

Organisers of the event, which will be celebrating its 60th anniversary, point out there are many breathtaking destinations to visit and memories to make when you own a recreational vehicle.

The Victorian Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow is the place to start making memories of your own, they said.

Sponsored by RACV Insurance, the show is guaranteed to be the biggest and best yet.

Hundreds of caravans, pop-tops, camper trailers, 5th wheelers, motorhomes and campervans will be on display, including the unveiling of new models

As always, leading manufacturers will be showcasing the latest tents, camping gear and every accessory imaginable.

There will be plenty of fun to be had as well with a new main stage hosting great entertainment, product demonstrations, seminars and celebrity appearances.

Visitors can also win fantastic prizes in the Passport Competition and children can win a Caravan Cubbie in the Caravanning Explorer’s Club Passport competition.

Youngsters will have a ball at the show, with Nick Jr's Dora the Explorer performing from Friday to Monday and free show bags at entry.

Organisers said it would be easier than ever to get to and around the show, with free all-day parking at Caulfield, a brand new smart phone app, a pack and send service and shuttle buggies to help visitors get around the show.

Multi-day, VIP and regular tickets are available for pre-purchase online.

The supershow runs from March 6 to 11 and will be open from 10am to 5pm daily (10am-4pm Tuesday).

Admittance for adults will be $20, concession card holders $16 and children under 15 free when accompanied by an adult.
