A FUGITIVE with a liking for caravan parks is still being sought by police.

Graham Potter, 58, fled Melbourne in 2010 while on bail and is wanted by Victorian police over his alleged involvement in conspiring to murder and drug trafficking offences.

Police recently issued a fresh appeal for information on his whereabouts as part of Operation Roam, a joint national operation between Crime Stoppers and all police jurisdictions around Australia.

Mr Potter ‒ among 20 of the country's most wanted and with a $100,000 bounty on his head ‒ was known to favour caravan parks and remote camping spots.

He spent six weeks at Green Way Caravan Park in Tully, Queensland, before giving police the slip and escaping into a forest during a routine traffic check four years ago.

Camping equipment, make-up and other articles to help him disguise his appearance were later found at the park.

Infamous for cutting off a woman's head and fingers, Mr Potter is also believed to have been in the Riverina region of NSW and is known to use the alias of either Peter Anderson or Josh Lawson.

Crime Stoppers Australia chairman Bryan Roach said Operation Roam focused on suspects most likely to have fled interstate to avoid being caught.

"Our list features 20 fugitives who are suspected of serious crimes such as murder, assault, armed robbery, rape and drug trafficking as well as a range of other crimes," he said.

"They need to be accountable for their alleged offences."

Queensland Police Assistant Commissioner Paul Stewart said the fugitives had tried to evade police by leaving their area of residence and moving elsewhere, including interstate.

"Suspects could be in your neighbourhood now," he warned. "If you see one of these people, call triple zero immediately.

"If you have information on their whereabouts, you can make an anonymous call to 1800 333 000 or you can make an online report via crimestoppers.com.au."

Anyone who sees Mr Potter is urged not to approach him.
