Membership list grows

BIG4 chain strengthens network with  new parks

Have your say

AUSTRALIA'S biggest chain of caravan and tourist parks has welcomed five new members to its fold.

BIG4 Holiday Parks has strengthened its already robust network by adding the parks to its portfolio, giving travellers even more options when choosing to holiday across Australia..

The newest additions to the BIG4 family are:

•  BIG4 Port Willunga Tourist Park (SA)

•  BIG4 Goondiwindi Tourist Park (QLD)

•  BIG4 Caloundra Waterfront Holiday Park (QLD)

•  BIG4 Mackay Marine Tourist Park (QLD)

•  BIG4 Forster-Tuncurry Great Lakes Holiday Park (NSW)

Following last year’s axing of BIG4’s previous no -dog policy, four of the five newcomers will welcome canines to their parks.

Joining the ever-growing list of member parks which now welcome dogs, BIG4 Port Willunga Tourist Park has taken an extra step by being the first BIG4 property to offer dog-friendly cabins which allow travellers' four-legged friends indoors.

BIG4 Goondiwindi Tourist Park boasts a magnificent artesian pool and spa with warm, natural mineral-rich waters and award winning landscaped gardens, while BIG4 Caloundra Waterfront Holiday Park has recently received a $10 million upgrade with brand new cabins, sites, amenities, pool and jumping pillow.

BIG4 Mackay Marine Tourist Park has recently installed a brand new camp kitchen, and BIG4 Forster-Tuncurry Great Lakes Holiday Park sits on an idyllic lakefront location on the shores of Wallis Lake.

From humble beginnings in 1979 with four dedicated caravan park owners in Ballarat, Victoria, BIG4 has grown to over 170 parks and seen the industry evolve to become much more than the bare-bones caravan parks synonymous with Australian summers in the 1970s and 80s.

Chief executive officer Ray Schleibs said he was pleased to be welcoming so many great new parks to the BIG4 group.

"These parks underpin what the BIG4 brand promise is all about ... excellence in customer service, park presentation and facilities, cleanliness and safety, and ultimately, delivering a unique holiday experience in outstanding Australian locations," he said.

"Not only do we, as a group, benefit from having parks of such a high standard join BIG4, these parks in turn benefit from the reputation we have built, as well as having access to tools such as our superior park-level marketing support, the BIG4 Membership program and an extensive database of loyal BIG4 customers.

"We look forward to working with each of them to further build on the success of their parks as the industry continues to grow."

BIG4 verified its industry leader status after a clean sweep at last November's State Tourism Awards.

A BIG4 Park won the top prize in every state in the highly competitive caravan and tourist park category, with NSW's BIG4 North Star Holiday Resort recently taking out the national award.
