Grant will help WA park save water in amenities A WEST Australian caravan park will fit water saving devices, thanks to a Federal Government grant. The three-star Flinders Bay Park in Augusta will receive a share of $340,000 through a Community Water Grants scheme to finance retrofitting its amenities blocks with the devices. The caravan park, located in Albany Terrace, has 138 sites. Augusta-Margaret River Shire director of Infrastructure Services Wayne Prangnell welcomed the government grants, which would also help pay for other initiatives in the area to help save 136 megalitres of precious water. The shire had developed actions to improve water quality and reduce water consumption and had also taken part in the ICLEI Local Governments for Sustainability Water Campaign process for the past two years.
