'Travelling with dignity and independence' Company paves way with wheelchair-friendly caravan A VICTORIAN company claims to be the first Australian business to specialise in caravans for the physically disabled.
The company bases its custom-built product on a 17ft Roadstar Daintree series caravan. Accessavan features an ensuite including wheel-in shower and accessible toilet. An innovative ramp allows easy access into the caravan enabling the traveller to journey anywhere in Australia. Each floor plan is custom designed to suit the individual's needs. Even carers can be accommodated. Company spokesman Anthony Wake said: "Despite common perception, people with a disability can get away on a caravanning holiday. Whether you're in a wheelchair or have limited mobility, with Accessavan people can enjoy a caravanning holiday with dignity and independence." And Anthony speaks from experience. He has lived as a paraplegic for over 16 years, but his love for travelling has not diminished. His motivational catchcry is: "Go everywhere, stay anywhere!" BACK TO CARAVANNING NEWS MAIN PAGE
