No need to bury
wastewater Website eases problem of locating disposal points CARAVANNERS travelling through Queensland will now find it easier to locate dump points.
"With growing numbers of people enjoying travelling in motorhomes and caravans, providing an easy and environmentally safe way to dispose of wastewater is more important than ever," Main Roads Minister Warren Pitt said. The interactive website also includes locations of rest areas, driver reviver sites and scenic stops throughout the Sunshine State. "Best of all, by visiting the Main Roads website motorists with navigational devices will be able to download these files for use with their GPS equipment," Mr Pitt said. He added that Main Roads funding would help provide for more dump points across Queensland over the next two years. Funding to the Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia will provide for at least 22 new dump points around the State. Under the dump point scheme, the Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia provides local councils with specially designed polyethylene dump units that are placed in easy-to-access locations, including parks, rest areas and camping areas. The units are free for all travellers to access and are connected to town sewerage systems, so people do not have to dispose of their waste illegally or bury it in bushland.
