'Independent but not alone'

Bloomin' great safari planned for RVs

Have your say

A CARAVAN safari in WA promises to be bloomin' spectacular.

Global Gypsies and RAC Travel have joined forces to offer a fun and educational tour of the state's wildflowers later this year.

Owners of motorhomes and camper trailers are also invited to join the convoy led by award-winning tour guide and towing trainer Jeremy Perks.

The 11-day safari sets off on October 2 and will explore such horticultural hotspots as Mt Leseur National Park; Western Flora Wildflower Farm; Coalseam National Park; Mullewa; Wongan Hills; Paynes Find and Dalwallinu.

Included in the package are welcome and farewell dinners; powered sites at caravan parks; national park entry fees; a pre-departure kit; the opportunity to meet new friends with similar interests; services of a professional guide and wildflower expert and the peace of mind that comes from travelling with an experienced tour operator.

The safari is self-catering and convoy numbers will be strictly limited.

The price is $1850 for each RV (two people), but RAC members will pay $100 less.

"Our caravan safaris are always very popular," Mr Perks said.

"Experienced caravanners enjoy the camaraderie and having everything arranged in advance, while novice caravanners welcome the opportunity to practice with their new caravan.

"They travel confidently around our beautiful state – independent but not alone."
