CARAVANNERS Denis and Kay Wall are looking forward to exploring more of Australia after winning a $500,000 Lifestyle Giveaway promotion.

The couple's New Year windfall came after they bought a caravan from a Toowoomba caravan dealer in Queensland.

Security worker Denis and Kay, from Toowoomba, received an entry into the competition when they collected their dream caravan from Select Caravans.

And they came up trumps out of a total of one million entries, which equated to around $50 million dollars in spending with the participating businesses.

The Lifestyle Giveaway was launched in July with just over 400 businesses signed up to participate to give their customers the opportunity to get entries in return for shopping with them.

The win was life changing for the couple who had a selection of prizes to choose from. They selected the investment option of a property and cash package.

Now they will have more money in their pocket when they set off on their caravan holidays.

"I never thought we would win and I never normally enter competitions," an overwhelmed Denis said. "But this time I thought ‘why not’.

"It was such a big surprise when they called to say we had won – I didn't believe them at first."

Their win gave them a unit built by Multiplex Living at Casuarina Beach on the Tweed Coast with a guaranteed rental income of $30,000 over two years plus $100,000 in cash.

They also received $20,000 for entering online.

The couple have two children and Mr Wall works in the security industry.

The whole family was thrilled by the win.

"We are going to keep the current tenant in the unit at this stage and then decide what we want to do later," Denis said.

The joint promoters behind the competition were Lifestyle Giveaway and New Movers Australia.

They were also behind 34 other House and Land Giveaways throughout Australia and New Zealand plus the very successful Servo Savers Fuel Program.
