Objections swamp council

HUNDREDS of people are protesting over a proposed new caravan park on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria.

The local shire council issued a Notice of Refusal for the development at the corner of Tower Road and Nepean Highway, Mount Eliza, prompting the developer to lodge an Application for Review with the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

Local residents have now swamped the council with around 600 objections to the development and have launched a fighting fund so they can engage a legal team to represent them when the tribunal sets a date for the hearing.
