Traveller Denis not impressed Mystery of the great undies heist at four-star park
AN undercover thief has struck at a north Queensland caravan park ... leaving a traveller desperately short of undies. Now NSW caravanner Marie Hewson wants to get to the bottom of the mystery of why someone should take a shine to her husband's eight pairs of underpants. Marie, from Yamba, had left Denis's smalls fluttering on a washing line at the BIG4 Rollingstone Beach Caravan Resort. But when she returned, she said some cheeky thief had made off with them. "We free-camp a lot and the only time we have had any thing stolen is when we have been in a caravan park," a mystified Marie told Caravanning News. "The other item was a towel, so I guess we have been lucky in the seven years we have been caravanning. Maybe I should have written his name on his undies ... I tell you, he is not impressed." Marie and her hubbie, who paid $35 for a powered site for their 13ft Coromal caravan, admit they did not report the great undies heist to park management. Marie explained: "Caravan park owners can't be held responsible for desperados who steal washing. But on reflection I am thinking about sending them an email as then they may want to put up warning signs or whatever." A baffled spokeswoman at the four-star park told Caravanning News that thefts were a rarity. "Are they sure someone didn't taking their washing by mistake? It sometimes happens," he said.
