'It's a great honour to receive this award'

Another gong for shire's 'safe and well-kept' park

TURNER Caravan Park at Augusta in WA has been awarded a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for the second year running.

Owned and run by the Shire of Augusta Margaret River, the park is highly rated on the world's largest travel website.

Park manager Hettie Enderes said guests had described it as a safe, well-kept and fun place for families with young children.

"It is a great honour to receive this award again," she said

"Turner Caravan Park is a wonderful spot for fishing, boating, swimming and enjoying the picturesque surrounds of the Blackwood River."

She said dolphins often cruised the river in front of the park and people loved seeing the large stingrays in the bay.

Shire manager for community services Nigel Anderson revealed there were plans to build three new chalets along the park's foreshore.

"We have seen an increase in travellers staying at the park, particularly in the summer months," he said.

“The chalets will provide additional accommodation for visitors and have beautiful river views."

The park is among the growing number which have a heart defibrillator on site.
