Tourist park takes off . . . New airfield caravan park great for aviation buffs AVIATION buffs will be in their element at a new caravan park in New South Wales.
Temora Shire Council told Caravanning News the caravan park was now officially open but a few finishing touches were still being carried out to landscaping. "We had a massive Anzac weekend which saw over 100 caravanners and campers give the new facility a full work out," spokesperson Kris Dustan said. The park, which is within a stone's throw of the internationally renowned Temora Aviation Museum, is now well grassed and incorporates an environmentally friendly underground watering system. A new compound allows caravans to be stored off-site for aviation enthusiasts wanting to leave their caravans in Temora. Temora Aerodrome was the largest World War II RAAF Elementary Flying Training School which saw 2741 pilots earn their wings in Tiger Moths between 1941 and 1945. The caravan park is managed by Summit Personnel and for more information or bookings call (02) 6978 0255. BACK TO CARAVANNING NEWS MAIN PAGE
