90,000 expected to flock to giant expo

Show showcases the best

Travellers' wonderland a one-stop shop

  Have your say

NSW Caravan, Camping, RV and Holiday ExpoMORE than 400 exhibitors are standing by to showcase the latest products at what is being billed as Australia's biggest leisure and tourism expo.

The nine-day NSW Caravan, Camping, RV and Holiday Expo will open at Sydney’s Rosehill Racecourse on April 30.

Around 90,000 visitors are expected to pass through the turnstiles to view all the latest models and makes of caravans, motorhomes, campervans, camper trailers, 5th wheelers, slide-ons, tents and camping equipment, caravan and 4WD accessories, holiday park displays, tourism destinations and much more.

Caravan and Camping Industry Association of NSW chief executive officer Barry Baillie said supershow would be a "travellers' wonderland" where visitors could research, review, book and buy all in one location.

"The Caravan and Camping Supershow is truly a one-stop shop with a range of holiday destinations and touring products to browse and buy," he explained.

It would offer something for every taste at any budget, displaying and selling everything from a $300,000 motorhome through to a $200 tent.

Over 88, 000 visitors flocked to Rosehill Racecourse last year to gear up for the holidays ... a 13 percent increase on the 2009 show.

"Caravan and camping is the fastest growing domestic tourism sector in Australia, and has been for the past 12 years," Mr Baillie said.

2011 is tipped to be a strong year for the caravan, camping and RV tourism sector as more Australians turn to value-for-money holidays, searching for that priceless holiday without the expensive price tag.

"Everyone deserves a holiday and it has never been a better time to take advantage of the excellent value offered by a caravan or camping holiday," Mr Baillie added.

Key highlights of the show include a repeat of last year's Supershow Passport Competition, with a first prize worth $82,000

The expo will open from 10am to 5pm daily with free parking, and tickets are available at www.supershow.com.au.
