Unlike any other in the southern hemisphere

Award-winning park splashes out on new $1m water feature

The new Splash waterpark at the Coconut Holiday Report in CairnsTHE award-winning Coconut Holiday Resort at Cairns in Queensland has opened a million-dollar water park.

The five-star park's latest attraction, Splash, is said to be unlike any other in a southern hemisphere caravan park and is already a great hit with youngsters ... and the young at heart.

"We had a trial with our staff and families and it was a huge success," park spokesperson Jenny Tonkin told Caravanning News shortly before the official opening.

"We ran it for three hours and we could not pull the children away. They literally played the full three hours."

The water park includes a 1200-litre pineapple-shaped tipping bucket that sounds a bell to alert users to its impending spray, three water slides and over 50 interactive water play features.

Water is fully recycled and the water park is free for guests staying at the BIG4 holiday resort.
