THE Caravan Industry Association of Victoria, (CIA VIC) has appointed Daniel Sahlberg to the newly created position of industry development manager.

Mr Sahlberg has extensive experience in the industry, especially in compliance and technical advice.

He has built strong and longstanding relationships with regulators at a state and national level through his time at Windsor Caravans, RVMA and more.

Over the last few years, CIA VIC has been building and implementing more services to drive growth in the industry.

It said Mr Sahlberg's appointment would further complement this.

He will be primarily responsible for five key areas:

* Implementing and managing CIA VIC’s accreditation programs.
* Show compliance.
* Providing technical advice and information for members and editing CIA VIC’s new eNewsletter Caravan Tech Talk.
* Establishing and managing CIA VIC's new National Caravan Industry Training College.
* Assisting members with understanding and gaining government grants.

In addition, he will assist with the ongoing implementation of CIA VIC's Industry Blueprint in conjunction with the Blueprint Working Group.

"With the core elements of my position focused on industry and industry personal development, I'm looking forward to assisting the industry and its people with the evolution and upskilling of the current workforce," Mr Sahlberg said.

CIA VIC chief executive Rob Lucas explained that his association was aiming to achieve greater services for its members.

"With Daniel on board now, with his experience and his ability to understand the industry really well, we're in a much better place to do this," he said.

Mr Sahlberg conducted compliance audits and other tasks at the recent Victorian Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow.
