OVERJOYED organisers were toasting the success of one of the nation's biggest caravan and RV shows.

They said the NSW Caravan, Camping, RV and Holiday Supershow had broken numerous records, with the first Sunday seeing the largest crowd numbers since the event was launched 43 years ago.

A phenomenal 17,474 visitors passed through the gates at Rosehill Racecourse during the first Sunday.

One of the key drawcards of the event was the opportunity for visitors to win the biggest prize in supershow history ... an ultimate camping package worth $82,000 from Outdoors and Beyond.

Each year visitors to the supershow receive a Passport Competition entry, collecting stamps from appropriate checkpoints strategically placed throughout the show grounds.

Having collected all six stamps, their completed passport was handed in when departing the show.

About 25,000 people entered and during the final day of the show Denley Richards was announced winner of the major prize, which included a brand new Crew Cab Isuzu Dmax Ute, a Rough Road Deluxe Cavalier camper trailer, two Hobie pedal powered kayaks, a stand up paddle board and $20,000 worth of camping equipment, clothing and accessories.

Denley, wife Selina and children Mitchell and Tara have visited the show for the last six years, each time trying their luck in the Passport Competition.

Attending the official handover at Outdoors and Beyond at Nowra, Mrs Richards said: "We look forward to the supershow each year and often visit two or three times during the nine days.

"Winning this prize has been a dream come true as we have always wanted to travel in a camper trailer but did not have an appropriate vehicle or all the necessary gear.

"Now we don't have to worry and can just pack up and leave whenever we want."

Second winner was Sharen O'Keffe who received an Evakool 60 litre portable fridge/freezer complete with solar panel kit.

Third prize was won by John and Shirley Smith who received a camping package from Anaconda Auburn.
