Organisers issue parking warning as . . .

Caravan exhibition set to smash attendance record

AUSTRALIA'S largest caravan exhibition, which opened on June 4, is expected to smash all previous attendance records.

But organisers of the Queensland Caravan, Camping and Touring Holiday Show, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, have warned people to save the frustrations of trying to park by hopping on public transport.

A spokesperson told Caravanning News that due to major road works in the area, parking spaces are at a premium.

This year's seven-day spectacular at Brisbane's RNA Showgrounds features the latest caravans, motorhomes, accessories and everything else necessary for hitting the open road.

Last year, 81,211 people visited the show – the biggest attendance in the event's history.

Catering for all tastes, from the budget camper to the deluxe motorhome devotee, the event covers an estimated 70,000 sq m.

About 300 exhibitors are showcasing the latest travel innovations, services and destinations, along with informative and entertaining seminars and displays.

It also features the Motorhome and Campervan Show, giving visitors two shows for the one low admission price. Visitors have the opportunity to win a new Windsor caravan worth around $39,000.

The show opens daily at 10am with admittance $12 for adults and $8 for pensioners. Children are free.
