'Lock it or lose it' alert as thefts rise Police warning over petty pilferers in NSW parks POLICE have renewed their 'lock it or lose it' warning after more thefts at NSW caravan parks. Petty pilferers have been on the prowl through tourist parks in the South Coast waterside town of Narooma, 350km south of Sydney. Police said several bicycles had been stolen from the parks in recent weeks and there had been an increase in thefts from travellers. Property being targeted also included alcohol and fishing and surfing equipment. "Police are just asking that while away from their accommodation and at night, visitors place these items inside and don't leave them on outside on verandas etc.," a spokesperson said.
