PAMBULA Town Caravan Park in New South Wales is set for a facelift.

NSW Crown Holiday Parks Trust recently took over managing the park and is already looking at ways to modernise it and increase visitor numbers.

The trust was formed to consolidate the operations of 26 coastal and nine inland holiday parks and reserves located on Crown Land throughout the state.

It incorporates North Coast Holiday Parks, South Coast Holiday Parks and Inland Waters Holiday Parks.

Chief executive Steve Edmonds said the trust was looking forward to making improvements at the Pambula Town Caravan Park over the coming year.

"We are excited at the possibilities this park represents and we wish outgoing managers John Price and Maria King all the very best for their future," he said.

"John and Maria have dedicated many years to running this park and they are loved by many in the community."

Maria told Caravanning News it would be "a bit sad" to move on.

"The park has come a long way since we took over in 1994," she said. "It was a pretty dismal place.

"But it's been such a beautiful journey over the years and the park, although old, has been like a jewel in our crown."

Mr Edmonds said the trust was initially looking at making some minor improvements to attract more tourists.

This would help increase spending in the coastal town.

"We are also looking forward to working with key stakeholders such as park residents, Rotary, affiliated sports groups and the Bega Valley Shire Council to determine the best outcomes for the future of the park," he said.
