Dawn of a new era in Victoria

New home will mean
more space for show

Have your say

AUSTRALIA'S biggest outdoors caravan and leisure show is on the move.

After celebrating its 60th birthday this year, the Victorian Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow will next year relocate from Caulfield Racecourse to its new home at Melbourne Showgrounds.

It will mark the dawn of a new era, with even more of the latest and greatest caravans, camping gear and outdoors accessories on display from February 11 to 16 than was previously possible.

CIL Insurance will also return as the major show sponsor.

Announcing the new sponsorship arrangement, Caravan Industry Association Victoria chief executive Rob Lucas said he was delighted the company had returned to team up with the event to showcase the very best outdoor exhibition space in the state.

"CIL Insurance and the Caravan Industry Association Victoria can trace their relationship back over 50 years. Having CIL Insurance back on board as our major show sponsor is like welcoming an old friend back home," he said.

The new venue has 18,000 square metres more exhibiting space than the previous one, truly making the 2015 Supershow the biggest yet.

There will be extra food outlets and rest areas, an abundance of entertainment, product demonstrations and seminars.

Every member of the family will find something to interest them, with fantastic prizes to be won, free showbags, fishing, the Yamaha Supertank, cooking demonstrations and much more.

For the kids, Tammy the Tent and Corey the Caravan from the Caravanning Explorer's Club will provide plenty of fun and amusement.

Just 7km from the Melbourne CBD, Melbourne Showgrounds are easily accessible for visitors, with plenty of car parking and trains direct to the front gate on Saturday and Sunday.

Convenient shuttle buggies will also return in 2015 to help patrons get around the 60,000 square metres of exhibition space.

Mr Lucas said he was "very excited" for the supershow's future.

"Melbourne Showgrounds is just a magnificent facility and we will be able to grow even further," he remarked.

"But more than that, we will be able to give the patrons coming through the gates a much better experience."
