Great weekend for New Age 'van owners

MEMBERS of the New Age Caravans owners' club recently held a gathering at the Great Aussie Tourist Park on the banks of Lake Hume in NSW.

A total of 17 caravans turned up for the event, which members described as "a great weekend".

Club official Bryan Crow sent the following report to Caravanning News.

We have returned from a great weekend at the Great Aussie Tourist Park on the banks of Lake Hume and only 25km from Albury.

On Friday, Jason from Caravans on Cooper greeted owners as they arrived and assisted them with setting up their caravans and helping with any questions they had.

A big thank-you goes to Jason for his welcome efforts.

Friday night drinks and nibbles took place around a stunning warm open fire in the Recreation Area.

The fire burned ALL weekend thanks to the park manager providing lots of red gum.

Saturday morning saw a number of us head to the Wodonga Caravan Show where New Age and Melbourne European RV put on morning tea for us. Thanks Scotty.

Our roast dinner and apple strudel dessert on Saturday night was very well received by members. Many thanks to our helpers.

Sunday morning breakfast of bacon, eggs, sausages and muffins ... by now, we all had very full stomachs.

Sunday night saw 30 of us head to The Ettamogah Pub for dinner after which we returned to the fire for continued drinks a few laughs.

Big congratulations to John (Grover) and Margaret for being our first couple to attend five events ... as well as upgrading their 15ft Bilby to a sparkling New 21ft Oz Classic with recliners. Come see it at Daylesford!

Many members are looking forward to our next event, which is at Merimbula on the weekend of September 4 to 7.

Make your booking on 02 6495 1746, and please forward me a quick email to let me know.

If a couple would like to join club members David and Betty for five nights at the Goolwa Camping & Tourist Park, powered site for $20 per night in mid November, please email me.

An illness has prevented the other couple from taking part.
