The Sydney couple has become the proud owners of Jayco's 100,000th caravan
to roll off the production line.
The milestone makes Jayco the biggest manufacturer in the history of the
Australian recreational vehicle industry.
And with the start of summer, thousands of Aussie families ─ from all
walks of life ─ will be towing this iconic Aussie product to the beach or
to the bush.
"This is an important milestone for all of us here at Jayco, and we take
great pride in it," Jayco founder and managing director Gerry Ryan said.
The Wrights have been caravanning for more than 10 years and their new
Destiny poptop replaces the Jayco Freedom poptop caravan they have had for
the past five years.
Mr Ryan congratulated them on becoming the proud owners of the 100,000th
Jayco and wished them many safe and enjoyable holidays in the years ahead.
He also thanked them for their custom and loyalty, and invited them to
attend the official opening of the company's new national headquarters and
manufacturing complex early next year.
As for becoming the owners of Jayco's 100,000th van, the Wrights said they
were delighted to be a part of the company's history.
"I guess we're a bit biased, but we like and trust their product and
after-sales service. They build good quality vans and sell them at a
reasonable price. An added bonus is, Jayco vans hold their value," retired
Telstra designer Mr Wright, of the outer south western Sydney suburb of
Narellan Vale, said.
The Destiny pop-top van was recently handed over to the Wrights - along
with a special gift pack - by Jayco Sydney principal David Carrick at his
St Mary's dealership, one of the largest recreational vehicle retailers in
NSW.
