Catering for all tastes

Leisurefest will be huge one-stop show

Have your say

MELBOURNE'S forthcoming caravanning and camping leisurefest is being described as a massive one-stop shop.

Organisers say it will bring together all the big names in caravans, camping, fishing, RVs, 4WDs and adventure clothing, equipment and accessories.

Behind the event is the Caravan Industry Association Victoria (CIAVIC) and the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC).

They have teamed up to present the premier showcase of the latest adventure and touring products from both Australia and overseas.

The leisurefest will be held from the first Thursday to the first Sunday in October at Sandown Racecourse.

It will provide families with a great opportunity to see, touch and feel everything needed for the outdoors when discovering the big names in Australia like Simpson, Uluru, Kimberly, the Murray and Cape York.

"We are so proud to be presenting the seventh annual Melbourne Leisurefest at Sandown Racecourse, showcasing the new 4x4 village this year," CIAVIC chief executive Rob Lucas said.

"The organisers and sponsors all understand that RVs, caravans and tents are in fact the holiday houses of many families taking to a surf beach, snow-capped mountain, trout-filled river or maybe a sparkling lake."

This year there will be the latest releases from all areas of the industry, including off-road telecommunication products, alternative power as well as many other innovative products to help everyone enjoy the great outdoors.

There will also be a mountain of holiday destination information and competitions with great prize giveaways.

"Melbourne Leisurefest caters for all and it will be very pleasing to see so many people come and take advantage of one of the biggest outdoor living one-stop shops ever assembled," Mr Lucas said.

The leisurefest will be held from October 2 to 5 with adult admission $15, concession $10, Children under 15yrs free when accompanied by an adult. Parking is free.
