Melbourne Leisurefest: one day's visit not enough

Show will be biggest ever

Leisurefest  too big
 for one-day visit

Have your say

THE upcoming Melbourne Leisurefest will be the biggest ever, organisers say.

Tickets are now on sale for the four-day event which kicks off at Sandown Racecourse on October 8.

And visitors to Australia’s largest RV, camping and 4x4 show will be able to stay longer for less.

Two-day passes are just $20 for adults and $15 for concession cardholders ... a saving of over 50 percent over two individual single-day passes.

With over 44,000 sq metres and more than 250 exhibitors showcasing the latest RV, camping, 4x4 and outdoors products and accessories ‒ plus entertainment, cooking demonstrations, kids activities and more ‒ Melbourne Leisurefest is too big for just one day.

"Thanks to show sponsor the Dometic Group, getting around the event will be a breeze with courtesy carts available to get visitors around quickly and easily," Caravan Industry Association of Victoria (CIA VIC) chief executive Rob Lucas said.

Early bird ticket purchasers will go into the draw to win a portable fridge/freezer and a vacuum sealer pack worth $800 thanks to the Dometic Group.

Competitions will continue at the leisurefest, with the always-popular Passport Competition returning this year.

"The competition is always a favourite with people attending the show," Mr Lucas explained.

Visitors taking part could win one of four prizes, with the main one being a caravan hire package.

There will be plenty of fun activities to keep the kids entertained at the Caravanning Explorers' Club, including rides and amusements.

"There are always plenty of children's activities at Melbourne Leisurefest with rides and Kids Club showbags to be handed out with colouring book, stickers and pencils to keep kids engaged," Mr Lucas said.

New additions to this year's show include a new centre stage that will host cooking demonstrations with Spida Everitt, live music with Sunny Hawkings and lots more.

There will be free parking every day at Sandown Racecourse and Sandown Park Railway Station next door to the event.
