Third caravan in 16 months

Adelaide couple chalk up the Adria trifecta

Have your say

WHEN it comes to swapping caravans, an Adelaide couple holds the Adria trifecta!

Eric and Adrianna Kroon from Somerton Park have just taken delivery of their third new European-built caravan in a little over 16 months.

They bought their first Adria caravan, an Altea 432PX, in 2010 and then traded up to a 512PU at the Adelaide Show in February this year.

And at the recent Adelaide Mini Show Eric decided to trade in their late model caravan on a new Adora 612DP, taking delivery last month from local dealership Dave Benson Caravans.

"I had a Subaru Tribeca with a towing capacity of 2000kg which limits what I'm able to tow," Eric explained.

"We started off with the Adora 432PX but soon found we really needed a bit more space, so this prompted us to trade up to a 512PU with the island bed.

"This was great but whilst visiting the recent Adelaide Mini Show we saw the new Adora 612DP with a lot more space and not much extra weight (ATM of 1700kgs) which meant I didn't have to change my vehicle.

"So we did the deal, and now the Adora gives us all the space we need. What more can you ask for?"

Maybe a new tow vehicle? The Kroons have now swapped their Tribeca tug for a second-hand Mercedes ML 320 CDI, but a new model is expected to be released next year ... and no doubt Eric could be on the swap again.
