TASMANIANS are being encouraged to explore their own unique corner of Australia ... with a discounted stay at a local caravan park.

Kelso Sands Holiday Park owners Barbara and Bob Radley are inviting people from all over the Apple Isle to take a well deserved winter break and are offering a special deal "to give something back to locals".

The couple said they wanted to show their appreciation for all the support they receive from Tasmanians.

"We want to make it easier and even more affordable for them to get away during the colder months and have a break," Barbara explained.

"The offer means people get a relaxing few nights away and get to know other parts of their state without having to travel far. And it can all be booked conveniently online."

Their park, a member of the BIG4 chain, is treating local residents to a 10 percent refund on bookings of three nights or more until October 31, as a way of encouraging them to enjoy their island.

BIG4 Holiday Park acting CEO James Shearer described the Radleys as fantastic hosts, adding: "It is great to know that local support is being recognised."

He said Kelso Sands Holiday Park was set in a "stunning atmosphere" that Tasmanians should be proud of.

"We are very thankful to have them as part of the BIG4 family and hope that locals take advantage of this very generous offer,” he added.
