'The next things we knew we had won' Supershow prize will see adventurers hit the road FORMER campers and sailors Cyril and Mary Kavanagh of NSW are now planning to hit the road.
The adventurers from Elanora Heights have just won this year's grand prize in the NSW Caravan, Camping, 4WD & Holiday Supershow's Passport competition ... a new Jayco Discovery pop-top caravan. In conjunction with the Caravan & Camping Industry Association of NSW, Jayco presented the couple with their caravan at Jayco Sydney in St Mary's. The prize also included insurance provided by CIL and a free caravan towing course lesson provided by Tow-Ed. As keen fishermen and business people with a sports store in Mona Vale, Cyril and Mary are considering early retirement so they can hit the open road and explore the country. "We went to the Supershow specifically looking to buy a caravan because there were so many exhibits to choose from - and the next thing we knew we had won one!" they said. "Initially we will be taking weekend holidays in the caravan while we're still working and in the next two years we will probably retire and travel for longer periods," Mary said. The Kavanaghs recall family camping holidays in NSW with their daughter, Lisa, now a fond camper with her family. "We're campers from way back," Mary explained. "We have camped at Halifax Holiday Park, Shoal Bay and Sea Rocks. All great to experience with a young family. "We also enjoyed camping at places like Currarong and Forster but we love going to Port Stephens for holidays because it's just beautiful." The Discovery pop-top is Jayco’s latest addition to the company's suite of stylish and contemporary pop-top caravans. BACK TO CARAVANNING NEWS MAIN PAGE
