Ensuites could become deathtraps

Electric shock fears spark Jayco recall

SCORES of Jayco Silverline caravans have been recalled after fears over the safety of 240V power outlets.

This follows the discovery that plugs have been incorrectly placed in some ensuites which could turn them into potential deathtraps.

"If water is splashed onto the power point it may cause an electric shock," Australia's biggest manufacturer of recreational vehicles has warned.

The 86 suspect caravans were sold nationwide.

Owners have been urged to stop using the power point immediately and contact their local dealer or service agent to arrange for it to be relocated.
