BREAKING down on the road can present all kind of hazards for caravanners, but one Australian company is at least making sure you'll be seen.

Eflare Corporation of Melbourne is now manufacturing compact flashing beacons which are ideal for caravanners and can easily be stored in a tow vehicle's glove box.

The TF510 beacon operates on two D cell batteries and has a flashing red or amber light which at night can be seen for many kilometres. It can also be switched to become a very effective torch.

The EF300 is a compact yet tough flashing beacon which gives high 360 degree visibility for up to 30 hours on four AA batteries. It is available in either red or amber flashing colour.

"These new products will be very attractive to a huge range of consumer applications on the road," Eflare's Tim Parker said.

"Their attention-grabbing light and the fact they are based on our top industrial-strength products ensures they deliver under the toughest conditions.

"Additionally they are now backed by a very useful number of accessories like flexible mounts and lanyards as well as our products being recommended by police forces."
