On the New South Wales coast, Wollongong dealer David Carlon Motors recently expanded its business to include Adria caravans.

The caravans will complement the range of second-hand cars and 4WDs sold by the company for the past 20 years.

David Carlon Motors proprietor David Carlon made the decision to change the company's direction to become a one-stop shop for second-hand tow vehicles, pink slips, repairs and accessories fitment - and to specialise in European caravans as well.

The Adria caravan range is already proving its worth and generating strong interest at the dealership.

"We took on Adria because it is a quality brand that is well priced in the market - it's easy to see it will be a popular brand," Mr Carlon said.

He believes the layout of Adria caravans is commonly a deciding feature for would-be holidaymakers.

"For example, the Adria Adiva 642 UP in particular appeals to a wider range of customers because it has versatile sleeping arrangements," Mr Carlon said.

"The second double-bed can act as two singles, which is a perfect solution for families."

Strong sales at Brisbane's Euro RV have led the company to open a sister dealership on the Gold Coast.

The dealership began distributing Adria caravans last March and says it has enjoyed consistently high sales.

General manager Dominic Roff-Marsh believes there is a big market for the product on the Gold Coast.

"We receive substantial enquiries from the Gold Coast about our caravan range, so it makes sense to have a base there too," he said.

"It is an affluent area with many retirees and semi-retirees ready for an extended holiday - a good demographic for caravan sales."

Adria undertakes an extensive research and development program to ensure quality and durability.

It offers a full two-year warranty and five-year water ingress warranty across the range.

Adria's caravans are lightweight - the smallest weighs only 850kg (TARE weight) and the largest, dual-axle caravan, weighs 1700kg (TARE weight).

They are characteristically easy to tow and all feature a shower and toilet as standard.

Both new Adria dealerships will stock the full Adria range of caravans: Adiva 642 UP, Adiva 532 UP, Adora 532 LT, Action and the brand new Altea 432 PX.
