RVs could become road hazard

Fears over braking prompts safety recall

Have your say

MORE than 30 caravans built by Perth-based Fleetwood have been recalled after safety fears.

Owners of Coromal Navigator pop-top campers have been warned their RVs could become a road hazard with reduced braking capacity.

Affected vehicles were built between August 1 and Oct 17 this year and sold nationally.

"A defect has been identified in the installation of the electric braking system," a statement on the ACCC Product Safety website said.

"As a result there may be inefficient braking, or in the worst case scenario, no braking capacity assistance at all.

"This poses an accident hazard to the driver and other road users."

Owners have been urged to contact their selling dealer immediately to arrange for an inspection and rectification if required.
