TWO of NSW's major caravanning and surfing bodies have signed a
landmark partnership.
The Caravan & Camping Industry Association NSW (CCIA) and Surfing NSW (SNSW)
hope their alliance will expose their activities to an ever expanding
audience.
They say it will also help create a link between surfing activities and
NSW holiday parks.
Many parks have beachside locations up and down the coast and offer a wide
range of accommodation, from campsites to caravan sites and cabins to high
end glamping-style experiences.
"This is a fantastic partnership opportunity for the CCIA," chief
executive Lyndel Gray said.
"It is a great fit for both organisations and allows us to build greater
awareness of the amazing experiences and products we offer across the
state."
She said the surfing community loved to travel and embrace the outdoors.
"CCIA members have some of the best park locations close to the beach and
the best products ‒ like campervans, camper trailers and tents ‒ to make
any surfing holiday great.
"We both share a strong engagement with family groups and together we are
keen to promote the benefits of getting out and about in NSW, seeing new
places, participating in events, enjoying outdoor activities and having
active holiday experiences."
CCIA looked forward to working alongside its new partner to find new
ways of promoting the events and outdoor activities of both organisations.
Surfing NSW chief executive Mark Windon said his organisation was excited
about the opportunity to work with CCIA as a strategic partner.
"With surfers being habitual travellers, this partnership is great for
Surfing NSW," he said.
"And given the amount of events we complete across the NSW coastline – as
well as the number of Surfing NSW board rider clubs, surf schools and
members – we feel there's some great synergies between the camping and
surfing lifestyle."
He said Surfing NSW looked forward to consolidating similar strategic
partnerships with other organisations.
