THE 60th anniversary Victorian Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow saw an increased attendance.

A total of 52,273 people flocked through the gates ... 2464 more than in 2013.

Jubilant organisers said exhibitors had reported excellent sales figures during the six-day event at Caulfield Racecourse.

There were more caravans, camper trailers, tents and outdoors products than ever, with a huge line-up of speakers and entertainers.

Minister for Manufacturing David Hodgett officially opened the Supershow at a media breakfast on the first day of the event.

Part of this success was attributed to new initiatives at this year's Supershow, including Shuttle Buggies which transported visitors around over 43,000 sq metres of show space more easily, free parking for the entire show, a new smartphone app and volunteer helpers.

Caravan Industry Association Victoria chief executive Rob Lucas was very happy with the show.

"It was yet another great success and I am extremely proud of all the exhibitors and people who helped make our 60th anniversary the biggest and best yet," he said.

"It was especially pleasing to see many of the initiatives incorporated into event and be so well received by consumers, also to hear that our exhibitors achieved such great results."

Celebrating six decades of Supershows and the history of Australian caravanning was a key theme of the show ... a vintage caravan display demonstrating the history of the Victoria's caravanning industry.

The launch of the Kids Caravanning Explorer’s Club was a great success, and the regular Passport to Freedom competition again very popular.

C.Caddy of Clifton Hill was the major prize winner, picking up a $10,000 voucher.

Work has already started on next year's show.
