THE Australian Caravan Club's branch activities have never been busier, say officials.

"The club is in a very healthy state, with membership of over 4100," chairman Tom Smith told Caravanning News.

"Our club has been growing at about 20 percent a year."

Its three South Australia branches have just held their first State muster at Meningie and report a very enjoyable weekend ... "the first of many future State musters".

Club publicity officer Lionel Mussell said plans were well advanced for its ninth national muster at Beaudesert in October, with plans for tag-alongs to the event.

The recent Chairman's Muster at Lake Cargelligo was well attended by members from various branches.

Over 50 RVs are expected to attend a second one at Kununarra next month.

The club's board plans to increase the number of issues of its magazine, The Nomad, from four to six a year and has set up a committee to look after a farm stay scheme and budget camping information.

It is also developing a program to help members identify businesses which provide member benefits..
