A YOUNG boy was allegedly indecently assaulted in the toilet block of a New South Wales caravan park.

Police arrested a 43-year-old man and charged him after the alleged assault on the seven-year-old child at Avon Caravan Village in Bargo.

In a statement, police alleged the man followed the boy into the toilets at about 7.15pm.

Once inside, he allegedly indecently assaulted the boy but stopped when the boy’s father entered the block.

"The boy's father was unaware the alleged incident had occurred until the boy disclosed it later," the statement said.

Police from Camden Local Area Command subsequently began an investigation and arrested the man, who was taken to Narellan Police Station and charged with indecent assault of person under 16 years of age.
