BIG4 Capricorn Palm Holiday Park

NRMA's latest acquisition

Further expansion expected

NRMA adds another park
to its growing network

THE NRMA has bought the BIG4 Capricorn Palms Holiday Park at the gateway to Queensland's iconic Capricorn Coast.

Situated just outside Yeppoon on Mulambin Beach, it has been renamed the NRMA Capricorn Yeppoon Holiday Park.

The purchase brings the number of NRMA branded parks and resorts to 23, with further expansion expected in coming months.

The park boasts waterslides, an amphitheatre for movie nights and a large pool, while its location connects families to the Great Barrier Reef and Great Keppel Island.

NRMA Parks and Resorts chief executive Paul Davies said that providing families with quality holiday accommodation while boosting Australia’s domestic tourism industry was behind the purchase.

The cornerstone of quintessential Aussie driving holidays

"Holiday parks are the cornerstone of the quintessential Australian driving holiday and the NRMA’s expansion in the industry is a tangible way for us to safeguard this wonderful tradition for future generations," he said.

"Our mission is to make the great Australian road trip experience more enjoyable and accessible for everyone."

Mr Davies said his association was committed to finding new ways of unlocking what the country had to offer its members at an affordable price.

"The purchase directly aligns with the NRMA's vision of boosting local tourism industries. We know that for every dollar spent at a holiday park, $1.38 is then invested into the local economy."

Members of the NRMA and other auto clubs such as RACQ would be eligible for a 10 percent discount on any stay under three nights, or stay for four nights and only pay for three.

Mr Davies thought the year-round warm climate of the Capricorn Coast meant the park provided the perfect base to explore the region.

"It's little wonder Mulambin Beach is said to be the most photographed stretch of coastline in central Queensland," he said.

"Bushwalking, a ferry trip to Great Keppel Island, fishing along the beach, relaxing on the sandy shore or getting amongst the fun of the waterslides in the park are all fantastic family holiday experiences that are available within the one great location.
