Another Queensland park could fall to developers

Two others in Pilbara town also hit the market

ANOTHER popular Queensland caravan park could fall to developers.

The four-and-a-half-star Beachcomber Coconut Caravan Village overlooks the Pacific Ocean at Mission Beach south of Cairns and its owners admit the 2.26ha park would be of interest to developers.

Don and Janene Gray bought the 100-site park in 1991, working feverishly on repairs after it was almost flattened by Cyclone Winifred in 1986. But now they are retiring and have put Beachcomber, a member of the Big4 chain, in the hands of real estate agents Ray White Cairns.

Sales manager Steve Habjan said the park would appeal to developers, caravan park operators or investors.

Meanwhile, two parks at Karratha in Western Australia's Pilbara region have also hit the market.

Asking price for the Karratha Caravan Park, a member of the Family Parks of Australia chain, is $13 million.

Co-owner Margaret Brady told Caravanning News there had some interest in the 126-site park.

Expressions of interest have been called for the Harding River Caravan Park.

Agents Ray White Karratha say it is a 'fantastic opportunity to buy this thriving caravan park and land". Buyers must purchase two other parcels of land in Mundumia Way and the park as a group.
