Have your say

APOLLO Motorhome Holidays, the world's largest privately owned leisure vehicle operators and largest RV rental fleet operator in Australia, has officially taken over the distribution of Adria recreational vehicles.

Chief executive Luke Trouchet was "delighted" with the new partnership between the two brands, reassuring the more than 1000 existing Australian Adria customers that their RVs would now be considered part of the newly established network.

"We believe Australians looking for a middle-priced, lightweight, high quality caravan will be very interested in the Adria range," he said.

“They have been designed specifically for the Australian market with bright, flexible interiors and durable exteriors to suit tough conditions."

The four-berth Adria Altea 432 and Altea 512 models would be available at the Brisbane premier dealership in Nudgee Road, Northgate, and from Adria dealers in May.

Meanwhile, it is still business as normal for Apollo's manufacturing brand TALVOR, which will continue to produce its own economical caravan range and popular motorhomes.

TALVOR recently launched its revamped version of the flagship four-berth Hayman motorhome, which has consistently been one of the best-selling models since beng introduced in 2011.

Questions and answers:

Q: What will happen to current Adria owners and their warranties?
A: In the event of service or warranty repairs being required, it is recommended that customers contact their authorised dealer first. From March 1, 2014, all products purchased from authorised Adria dealers in Australia will be honoured and treated under their existing warranties by Apollo. Customers should check the website www.adriamobil.com.au, phone 1800 804 392 or email warranty@adriaaustralia.com.au from March 1, 2014 for more information.

Q: Is there a list of new dealers, or will things remain unchanged?
A: In Queensland, the Adria dealership on the Gold Coast has recently closed. An Adria dealership is being established at Apollo’s headquarters at 698 Nudgee Road, Northgate. Outside of Queensland, other Adria dealers and service agents will remain.

Q: What models will be available?
A: The first Adria models to be stocked at the Brisbane Superstore will be the Altea 432 and Altea 512, expected to arrive from April, 2014, onwards. Apollo is working closely with Adria on the development of a 2015 range for both the Altea and Adora models.

Q: How does Apollo, being one of Australia’s biggest builders of RVs, feel about importing and selling foreign-built caravans?
A: Apollo is very excited to be working with one of Europe’s leading RV and caravan manufacturers. Apollo and Adria share a goal of offering the best quality products that are designed and cater for demand in the market with reliable after sales support and value for money for our customers. Both parties see a lot of potential for growth in the market and share the same ambition to take the caravan and RV offerings in Australia to the next level.

Q: Does Apollo plan to increase the rate of sales?
A: Apollo sees great potential for the Adria RV range in the Australian market. While the initial focus is on the Adria caravans, Apollo will also consider Adria-built motorhomes for possible future retail opportunities.

Q: Will Adria caravans make a showing at the major caravan and camping shows which are now underway?
A: Apollo intends to have a presence at the 2014 Brisbane Caravan and Camping show, and will work closely with the brand's current dealers to explore opportunities at regional Australian camping shows.

Q: Does Apollo have any comments on how Adria caravans, being lightweight, cope with Australia conditions, or with the soaring rate of fuel costs is this an advantage which helps sales?
A: The initial Adria caravans to be retailed by Apollo have been designed and built specifically for Australian standards. There are more than 1000 existing Adria consumers in Australia who have experienced very few problems. All future Adria RVs will be designed in partnership with Apolllo and manufactured to their specifications to suit Australian terrain.
