Sold! One desert park renowned for  alien visitors

By DENNIS AMOR

A NORTHERN Territory caravan park located in a desert area ranked fifth in the world for UFO sightings has been sold to a Queenslander.

But owner Lew Farkas is revealing very little about the sale of his 250-site BIG4 Wycliffe Well Holiday Park, 130km south of Tennant Creek.

The 60-acre park is located on the Stuart Highway and was up for sale for $1.8 million.

It is believed the four-star park has been bought by Sunshine State entrepreneur Arc Van Der Zalm, who has reportedly already seen bright lights "zipping around the trees" during a late night stroll there.

Mr Farkas revealed that singer and avid stargazer Robbie Williams had been interested in the park, even sending an entourage to check out the property.

Even Robbie's music video to his recent single Morning Sun portrays him rocketing on an intergalactic voyage through the stars.

Mr Farkas told Caravanning News he was selling for family reasons after more than 20 years at the park, renowned for its UFO activities.

"I'm not getting any younger," the 62-year-old explained. ""And I need to spend more time with my family."

He will continue to be involved with Wycliffe Well but only in a management capacity, spending most of his time at Alice Springs.

The former Australian Navy physical training instructor is convinced extraterrestrials have been keeping a close eye on Wycliffe Well ... even sending down space vehicles for a closer look.

And just to emphasise the point, two model aliens sit outside the park to welcome travellers. Walls are covered in UFO, planetary and night-sky murals ... not forgetting the mock spaceship and UFO warning signs.
