Appeal to anyone who saw suspicious activity

Police probe early-morning caravan blaze in ACT

POLICE were investigating an early-morning blaze at a caravan park in the ACT.

They were alerted when flames were spotted in a caravan at the Narrabundah Long Stay Caravan Park in Narrabundah Lane, Symonston.

ACT Fire Brigade extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading.

A police spokesman said no one was injured and forensic officers, in conjunction with fire investigators, were assessing the scene to determine whether there were any suspicious circumstances.

They urged anyone who saw any suspicious activity at the park to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via its website at www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.

Meanwhile, in NSW a caravan and ute were destroyed at the Sea Breeze Caravan Park, South Ballina.

It took members of the Wardell Rural Fire Service about 45 minutes to bring the inferno under control.

No one was hurt and police inquiries were continuing.
